What Oilgate Scout collects, why it is needed, and who can see it.

Last updated: August 9, 2026. This operational notice should receive legal review before public launch.

Information collected

Oilgate Scout may collect a property address or coordinates, optional property and seller context, photos, notes, a scout's contact details, consent records, referral status history, and limited anti-abuse data. Do not submit sensitive personal information that is not necessary for evaluating the property.

How information is used

Information is used to evaluate property acquisition opportunities, identify duplicates, contact scouts for clarification, operate any approved referral program, secure the service, and measure product performance.

Who can access it

Public visitors cannot browse referrals, scout identities, seller details, photos, or internal notes. A scout can access an individual referral with its high-entropy referral ID or, after account linking, through the scout's authenticated dashboard. Authorized Oilgate reviewers receive broader access required for evaluation.

Maps and address search

When a visitor actively searches or views the map, the configured mapping provider receives the technical request needed to return map tiles or address results. Oilgate Scout does not send referral notes, scout contact details, or seller contact details to the mapping provider.

Security and retention

The production design uses server-side validation, private object storage, restricted database access, audit history, and row-level security. Retention and deletion periods must be finalized in the owner-approved production policy before launch.

Your choices

Photos and most property context are optional. Browser geolocation is requested only after the visitor selects “Use my location.” A visitor may use manual address entry instead.

Contact and corrections

Use the contact channel provided by Oilgate Realty to request a correction or ask how a referral record is handled. Treat a referral ID as private and do not post it publicly.
